Dennis Moffat discovered the silk screen process in 1967. He thought that he would produce limited editions prints and be a pioneer. Alas the idea was hundreds of years old. Since making art has always been an activity it wasn't a passion till he began silk screening. The drawing of the original, the colour decisions, the hand cutting,and the screening pulls of each colour,even the smell of the process was exciting to him.
Dennis Moffat's professional caareer began in 1979 and since then he has produced over one thousand editions.
The subjects range from foral studies to athletics. There is something for everyone.
Moffat's intent was to produce art that was affordable and original. The prints retail at the same price as they did in 1979 (50 dollars).
Moffat's art heroes are Andy Warhol, Mogdliani and Picasso.
The process still seems magic to him.
